And before you know it...
1. Half of August is gone
2. I have seven more work days
3. Summer is ending
4. School is starting
In other words... time flies by... fast!
Its hard to believe that in a couple weeks, I will be taking a flight to return to Vancouver. My time here felt very short.. I can also say that I am ready to go back home. I'm starting to miss my family and friends in Vancouver. I guess living by yourself does make you feel that way sometimes - especially when all my roommates have gone home for the rest of summer. God has taught me quite a bit of things this summer and He also has provided me with numerous opportunities to grow, to learn, and to explore. Some of the things I am thankful for during this summer:
A) The opportunity to grow in my relationship with God via reading the Bible. CCF has motivated me to read the Bible and to discipline myself in memorizing some passages. It does bring a new perspective and revelation in the Bible stories that I grew up with and the passages that I read over and over. This doesn't mean that I have all the knowledge of the Bible, but I am inspired and moved to continue with this discipline. I believe that a balance between grounding yourself with the Word of God and your own experiences are important.
B) The opportunity to learn...by working at Research in Motion, I was able to understand what the infrastructure of a private sector looks like. Its neat to see what I learned in my courses and understand how they work in real life applications. I'm not 100% sure if I want to spend my entire life doing the position that I'm doing right now, but it does help me understand what I like/dislike.
C) The friendships that I've made... My family in CCF has welcomed me since day one. I am so blessed to meet many folks here in UWCCF, as well as other RIM coop students. Though my time here has been short, I've learned much from them and I hope that God has worked through me to bless these amazing individuals.
D) The opportunity to explore... wow, where shall I begin? This summer has been the most travel-intensive experience I've ever had in my life. My travel quota has been satisfied (for now hah). I am grateful just to be able to explore different parts of the East and to learn their history. Whenever I embark on these amazing journeys, I do feel like I am in an adventure with God by my side - and that totally makes a huge difference. It has helped me to continually trust in Him, when I'm uncertain of where I am or what I'm doing. If I remember, I will post some pictures in this blog heh.
Well, my prayer now is to continually remind myself to be disciplined in reading the Bible, to spend some personal time with God, and to be productive with these last two weeks in the East. I do hope to continue writing these blogs as I embark in another journey in the fall. :)
